It seems that there is only so far that you can go if you reply on the free resources that are on the Internet, its the same with http://www.ancestry.co.uk” as the information you get is really just based on index files like that of a book. If you really want to explore the past then you need to get the official certificates and that is just what I am going to do – well i am not going to be them but my father is!!! Hopefully, he will be taking a little trip to the Birmingham registry office tomorrow and getting 4 certificates for births, 1 for marriage and 1 for death. This should give me some excellent building blocks to make headway.
I will update with what these actually give me once I have them.
